How Does This Kava Feel?
Fijian kava is notorious for its smooth flavor and mild spicy aftertaste. The first thing you’ll notice is your tongue and mouth experience some mild tingling — this is the effects of the active ingredients in the kava starting to work their magic. Within about 15 minutes, you should start to feel the mental effects. You may feel a sense of mental sharpness and acuity, your muscles may start to relax, and the constant anxious buzzing in the back of your head starts to dull.
If you’re at work, school, or drinking kava during the day, stick to a low to moderate dose to avoid feeling sleepy. If you’re drinking kava to help you wind down and prepare for bed, the higher dosage range is going to offer more direct benefits.

How to Use This Micronized Kava Powder
Using micronized kava couldn’t be easier. Mix 1–4 teaspoons of powder with a cup of water and stir. The more kava you add, the stronger the effects. Avoid boiling water when brewing kava — the high heat can damage the active ingredients and decrease the potency of your brew.
What is Micronized Kava Powder?
Kava powder is made by drying the freshly harvested rhizomes of the kava plant (Piper methysticum) and then grinding them up. Kava roots have a high fiber content that resists the grinding process. What you end up with is a blend of finely ground, soluble powder with insoluble fibers. If you try to mix this with water, you’re going to end up with a clumpy, fibrous mess.
Micronized powder takes this a step further. The fibers are removed, and the powder is further ground into a flour-like consistency. The finer the grind, the easier it dissolves into water. Micronized kava will dissolve completely with just a little bit of stirring.
Zero-Carbon Footprint Cultivation
Our kava comes to us directly from the tropical archipelago of Fiji. Our farmers have generations of experience growing kava without the need for heavy machinery or fertilizers. The rich volcanic soil in this part of the world is naturally rich in all the minerals and nutrients the plants need to thrive. They’re planted and harvested by hand and dried directly under the hot tropical sun.
Converting kava into powder requires a lot of energy too. Our farmers opt for more eco-friendly means of powdering equipment by harnessing solar energy and using that to power a grinding wheel to convert the roots into a fine powder.
